Google has finally brought interactive watch faces for Android Wear through a new update for the wearable OS. previously, Android Wear only supported static watch faces but the now interactive ones should make the experience a lot more fun.
Thanks to the new interactive watch faces, developers will be able to add more features to their watchfaces. The watchfaces can change their design automatically, let you open a certain app directly, reveal more information and more. Google has already made the interactive watch faces API available for all developers. If you are a developer, you can get it here.
Google has also shown off some new apps that use the interactive watch faces feature. Firstly, there’s Bits, which along with clock gives you info on the weather, mail, fitness, calender and more. Everything is just a single tap away.
Then there’s Under Armour, which lets you see your step count, burned calories right on your watch face.
Together is an another cool app, which lets you stay close to a specified person and you can be in touch with them right from your watch face.
Along with the new interactive feature, the update also brings support for 44 languages to Google Translate. To use Translate, users just need to speak through the microphone, flip their wrist and voila! The update will roll out to Android Wear device in a few weeks, so let us know how you like it, once you have it.
