The iPhone 7 devices released this year are more powerful than the last year’s iPhone 6 and recently announced Google Pixel smartphones. The devices may seem to be more like “iPhone Perfection” in the eyes of the organization but they aren’t really so. People are queuing outside the Apple stores and ordering the devices online, but here are a few pointers you should keep in mind before taking that leap.
COLOR – JET BLACK
The devices may look smooth and slippery, but an iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in Jet Black color will be more prone to scratches on its delicate, shiny metal finish. Apple has actually put up a disclaimer suggesting that the device easily gets scratched.
Even after considering this disclaimer you want to take the shot, make sure that rubbing it on your garments or jeans is avoided as this will worsen the situation.
Simply purchase a microfibre cleaning cloth to keep your iPhone 7 and 7 Plus scratch-free. If scratches bother you a lot then the Black matte-finish model is a better option.

STORAGE OPTIONS
Unlike the previous iPhone models, Apple finally pulled out the 16 GB variant with the iPhone 7. The basic model now starts with 32 GB which is a good news. But the lowest official price for the same starts from Rs. 60,000.
Further, this base model will not be available as a Jet Black variant which is the much sought after choice. The new finish will only be offered by the 128 GB and 256 GB variants. Much popular 64 GB variant is now no more, so those looking for similar storage capacity option will have to shell out Rs. 70,000 with 128 GB model.
The previous generation iPhones – iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, and SE, also offer similar storage choices.
MISSING 3.5 mm HEADPHONE JACK
You might already be aware of the fact that if you have a collection of wired headphones, they won’t work on these models. This has been a topic of discussion even before the official release of iPhone 7. With the 3.5 mm headphone jack intentionally chopped off the device, Apple offers an in-box lightning to 3.5 mm adaptor. You’ll have an appendage to connect before plugging in your snazzy, wired headgear.
But it is much easier and at the same time expensive to buy a pair of the quality Bluetooth headphones making your life easier. Because, like the MacBook, charging & using the lightning headphones simultaneously isn’t possible anymore without an additional adaptor. Hence, Phil Schiller from Apple pointed out that one could purchase an additional Apple iPhone Lightning Dock to use the two simultaneously. The Dock would cost you a good Rs. 3,500 – Rs. 5,000 which again is not listed in India.

APPLE’S AIRPODS FOR iPHONE 7
These are pricey and almost look impractical but depending upon what’s on your mind they could appear anything from electric toothbrush heads to miniature size hair dryers.
Airpods are neither cool nor practical but according to Apple CEO, Tim Cook, it’s the opposite. And for additional information, they come at an unreasonable price of Rs. 15,000.
DUAL CAMERA
It may sound to you like a trick, but usually, the dual-camera setup on most premium & mid-range smartphones serve the purpose if they are used in the right manner. What you do receive with iPhone 7 Plus is the 1X optical zoom and up to 10X digital zoom.
Apple’s dual-camera system on the iPhone 7 Plus gives you satisfying photographs with its new portrait mode. This will only be available when the software update arrives which is currently stuck update is in an iOS 10 beta.
WATERPROOF DEVICES
For the first time, Apple officially launched its iPhone claiming to have an IP67-rated for dust & water resistance.
Although it is advisable even by Apple not to take the phone while swimming nor click pictures underwater. Of course, without any botherance, you’ll be able to make calls while in the shower or when it’s raining.
HOME BUTTON
It’s a Force Touch static and a customizable home button this year by Apple. Basically, this isn’t a button as it’s not in a movable state and is hence static. While many of you will be happy that you do not have to worry about checking warranty before getting the phone damaged, this all new “home button” cannot be pressed down.
It gives you certain vibrations that should give you a feeling that the button is being pressed down. The new Home Button simulates clicks but doesn’t actually move.
