HP brings the FORCE with its Star Wars Special Edition Notebook!

The trailer of one of the most anticipated movies of all time, Star Wars: The Force Awaken is out. Fans around the world are eagerly waiting for the movie. To commemorate the event, HP today, launched Star Wars Special Edition Notebook in collaboration with Disney and Lucasfilm.

Designed to awaken the Dark Side, the notebook has “battle-worn” distressed design. The term “Galactic Empire” is written on the hinge using the unique star wars Aurebesh font. The keyboard deck features the iconic Storm Troopers while the trackpad is designed to look like the X-wing Star Fighter Guidance System. Throw in the black keyboard with red backlit keys and you get the most awesome dark side themed notebook ever.

The force inside the notebook is powered by the latest Sixth generation Intel® Core™ i5/i7 Processor. You have the option to include either an Intel HD Graphics 520 or Nvidia GeForce 940M as a dedicated GPU. The storage option goes up to 2TB and you can upgrade the RAM up to 12GB. It sports a 15.6” Full HD display with an option to convert it to touch panel. All this is backed up by 7 hours of long battery life. Want to catch up on all the previous Star Wars action before the movie hits the theater?  Don’t worry, the notebook has you covered with its optical drives and B&O Play dual speakers which will ensure an amazing Star Wars experience.

But, it is not only the design but the special features the notebook comes with is what makes it a true Star Wars special edition notebook.

There is an imperial Cog icon on the desktop, clicking on which will take you to Sta Wars Command Center. Here you can browse themes and galleries with more than 11,00 images covering 40 years of Star Wars history. It has unique content collections such as behind-the-scene images, artworks, storyboards, classic photos, audio selections and set and costume designs.

You can use the themes to customize your notebook experience. For example, you can replace the standard windows notification sounds with eight different categories of iconic star wars sounds such as R2-D2 and light sabers.

Apart from themes you have galleries which host numerous categories you can explore to find the unique Star Wars content. You can find original movie posters here. You can even explore the “Concept Art” section to see the early concept ideas on characters, costume and set designs. Illustrated Art celebrates Star Wars with artwork from black and whites to comic book art.

There are many small nuggets here and there which the hardcore will surely appreciate. The Aurebesh font allows fans to type in Galactic Base Standard language for a truly engaging Star Wars experience. One little nugget includes replacing the replacing the Recycle Bin with a Death Star icon. In accessories, HP is also selling  a slim, sleek and refined Star Wars Special Edition Wireless Mouse and a Star Wars Special Edition Sleeve.

Pricing and Availability

The Star Wars special edition notebook is priced at INR 73,000 for the base model and will be available from 20th November 2015.
