We have again and again iterated that the battery is one of an essential dimension you should look into before buying a smartphone. After all every smartphone needs the power to run and perform all its functions. Keeping this line of thought in mind, Lenovo has just launched two brand new smartphones to suit the needs of power users: The Vibe P1 and P1m. Both phones have premium looking metal and glass finish.
Designed for the power hungry users, the Vibe P1 sports a 5.5-inch full HD IPS panel with a resolution of 1920*1080 pixels with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 for added protection and runs Android 5.1, Lollipop. Powered by Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz it also has Adreno 405 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage and expandable storage support via microSD card. For added security, it comes with a fingerprint scanner, built in the home button of the device. It also has supports for NFC and USB-OTG. It sports a 13MP rear-facing primary shooter along with a 5MP front-facing camera. It is a dual sim 4G device with dual LTE support.
The USP of this device is its battery and unique charging technology which the company has termed as “rocket charging”. The battery has a huge 5000 mAh capacity which will last the whole day for any type of users easily. The rocket charging technology will charge 2000 mAh of the battery in just 30 minutes. According to Lenovo, a 10-minute charge is sufficient to last for 10 hours. One unique feature of this device is that it lets you charge other devices using OTG cables. Even after packing such a huge screen and a big battery the phone doesn’t seem to be too heavy and weighs just 189 grams.
The Vibe P1m is the budget version of the Vibe P1. It sports a 5-inch HD IPS screen and is powered by MediaTek MT6735 processor which is a 64-bit quad-core processor. It also has 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory and expandable storage up to 16GB via microSD support. It is a dual sim 4G supported smartphone. It has an 8MP rear and a 5MP front facing camera. It has a physical power saver toggle which you can use to activate the power saver mode to extend the battery life.
Our first impression has been mostly positive for both the smartphones. They both look premium and pack numerous features. Of course, we have to test them out before we give out our final verdict.
