The successor to the Micromax Canvas Doodle aptly named Canvas Doodle 2 was spotted yesterday at an online retailer and now the device is on sale from the popular Indian online retailer Snapdeal. It is Micromax’s attempt to give the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 some competition and with the Note 3 coming next month, this is the right time.
The Canvas Doodle 2 features a huge 5.7-inch IPS display of HD resolution taking the device to the phablet category. It runs on a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM. The phablet comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The rear camera is a 12 MP one and it features a 5 MP front facing camera for all those selfie lovers.
The Canvas Doodle 2 features 16 GB of inbuilt storage and there is also a micro sd card slot for expanding the storage upto 64 GB. The phablet comes with dual-sim support along with Micromax’ usual dual-standby feature. There’s a stylus as well with the Canvas Doodle 2 along with the M! Doodle app to make use of the stylus much like what the Samsung Galaxy Note series offers although Samsung’s S-Pen is arguably far more useful and advanced.
There’s a 2600 mAh battery powering this thing which sounds too modest considering the huge display which is disappointing, we’ll have to wait and see in real if the battery is good enough or not.
It comes with the software features we saw in the Canvas 4 like the blow air or shake to unlock, video pinning, smart pause and others. The Canvas Doodle 2 A240 is available at Rs. 19,990.
