Micromax has finally made the Canvas Turbo official after leaks, rumors and some recent teasing by Micromax. As you can make from the headline, there are some firsts for the Indian smartphone maker . Canvas Turbo is the first smartphone from Micromax to feature a Full HD (1920×1080) display and the first to come with 2 gigs of RAM.
The Micromax Canvas Turbo also comes with a new premium design and the casing is aluminium which makes it look way more nicer than what we have come to expect from the company’s previous offerings such as the Canvas 4. The device is 8.66 mm thin as well. The new flagship from Micromax features a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080) CGS (Continous Grain Silicon) IPS display, yes even we are curious about the new technology as you are and we would love to know what it brings to the table that makes it better than the normal IPS displays. It features a 1.5 GHz MediaTek MT6589T Quad-Core processor and 2GB RAM as we told you above. There’s Dual-SIM with dual standby feature and now one SIM is the standard SIM while the other SIM slot is a micro SIM one.
There’s a 13 MP with LED flash on the rear and a 5 MP front facing camera similar to the Canvas 4 and there are some cool camera software additions such as 360 degree panaroma, a new Cinemagraph option which lets you take .GIF pictures and Object Eraser Tool is also there very similar to what Nokia offers with it Lumia devices.
It comes with Android 4.2.1 along with Micromax’s apps and customizations. There’s a Freewheen feature which lets you access features with one click such as SMS, Pop-up browser, Pop-up video among others. It also comes with BBM and Hike Messenger pre-installed on the device. The Canvas Turbo has a 2000 mAh battery.
The Micromax Canvas Turbo is priced at Rs. 19,999 (MOP) and will come in pristine White and midnight Blue colors. The new smartphone will be available from October 26th in India at the leading retail outlets and online retailers which is pretty impressive stuff from the Indian maker which recently also roped in Hollywood Star Hugh Jackman as their new brand ambassador.
