Moto G announced, features a 4.5″ HD display and priced at $179

Google owned Motorola has just announced their mid range Android smartphone, Moto G which had recently leaked in all its glory. Let’s check out the specs of the new smartphone, Shall we?

Moto G

The Moto G features a design similar to the its elder sibling Moto X. There’s a polycarbonate body along with swappable back panels and you can change the back panel of the device from seven color options namely white, black, dark blue, light blue, yellow, red, and pink. Coming to the internals, the Moto G features a 4.5-inch HD (1280 x 720) display, a 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 processor with 1 GB of RAM. You can choose between the 8 GB memory variant or the 16 GB one although sadly there’s no microSD card slot.

There’s a 5 MP rear camera with a LED flash and on the front, it has a 1.3 MP camera. It comes with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean along with cool customizations from Motorola and an update to Android 4.4 KitKat has been promised before the year ends. The 1950 mAh battery runs the show.

The 8 GB version of the device comes at $179 and 16 GB version will cost you $199 which makes it approx Rs. 11,600 and Rs. 12,700 respectively which is a great price considering the device.

Moto G

Moto G will be available in Brazil starting next week and the device will make its way to Latin America, Europe, Parts of Asia and Canada in the next few weeks. More importantly, Motorola will be re entering the Indian market thanks to Google and they will be bringing the Moto G in January. In case you don’t remember Motorola left the Indian market in 2011.
