Every year Motorola produces a new iteration of its Droid Turbo lineup, specifically for the US market. This lineup boasts of having the most durable smartphones available today. This year’s Droid Turbo 2 is no exception. Motorola, last Thursday, also launched the international version of the Droid Turbo 2 for its customers outside the US: The Moto X Force.
Durability and elegance seem to be on two different plains when it comes to smartphones. The Moto X Force tries its best to bring these two qualities together, and successfully so. For a smartphone that boasts of having a shatter-proof display, the Moto X Force brings a good design too. It sports a 5.4 inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor clocked at 2GHz and paired with 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The Moto X Force has a huge battery capacity rated at 3760 mAh and also supports quick charging. It has a 21 MP primary shooter with a f/2.0 aperture and dual-LED flash and Phase Detect Autofocus. The secondary shooter has a 5 MP wide-angle camera module with front facing flash.
Certainly, the USP of the device is its shatter-proof display. For this indestructible display, Motorola has used five layers of shock absorbing plastic. There’s not a single shard of glass in the device. The display also has an aluminum rigid core, flexible AMOLED screen, and dual-layer touchscreen panels. It has already been put through rigorous tests and came out unscathed. You can not shatter the display, period. The device is also equipped with water repellent nano-coating.
With its durability, long battery life, high specifications and good design, this aims to capture the attention of customers who want a tough smartphone without sacrificing too much on looks and power.
