After lots and lots of leaks and rumors, the beastly phablet from Nokia, the Nokia Lumia 1520 is finally official at the Nokia World event today in Abu Dhabi.
Nokia Lumia 1520 features a huge 6-inch Full HD (1920×1080) IPS LCD Clearblack super sensitive display (First Windows Phone to feature a Full HD display), a 2.2GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 coupled with 2GB of RAM, 32 GB internal storage along with microSD card slot for expansion.
There’s a 20 MP PureView camera with Zeiss optics with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), 2x lossless zoom, oversampling tech similar to what we have seen in the Lumia 1020 and dual LED flash. It can record videos at 1080p at 30 fps with OIS. There’s also a HD 1.2 MP front facing camera with wide angle lens. There’s also Rich Recording thanks to four high-frequency microphones. There’s NFC, A-GPS+GLONASS and al the connectivity features a flagship should have along with the usual set of sensors.
The Nokia Lumia 1520 comes with a 3400 mAh integrated battery and there’s inbuilt wireless charging in tow as well. The phablet will come with Windows Phone GDR3 along with the Lumia Black update from Nokia which brings Nokia Camera, the new Storyteller app. The update was previously known as BitterSweet Shimmer. Nokia Lumia 1520 wll come in Black, White, Yellow and Red color options and will be priced at $749. The phablet will go on sale this quarter in Hong Kong, Singapore, the United States, China and Europe (including Finland, France, Germany, and the UK), followed by other markets.
The price is a bit steep but considering all the latest under the hood hardware inside the beautiful hardware on the outside it was to be expected and the Luma 1520 now brings Nokia in competition with the likes of Note 3, Xperia Z Ultra and One Max. Let’s see how that goes..
