Update: Open sale will be for an hour this monday.
Thanks to its creative marketing techniques, OnePlus has already become a pretty popular name. The popularity is also due to the fact that the OnePlus One and the OnePlus 2 are pretty good smartphones but one thing that has started to become a disappointment is the fact that the phone remains elusive. The OnePlus 2 was unveiled over a month ago and the sales started around a month ago but the device is still hard to buy. Well, the budding company might be planning to make up for all that disappointment.
OnePlus’ CEO Carl Pei took to the OnePlus forums to offer an apology to all the people who have been wanting to buy the OnePlus 2 but they have no choice but to wait. In the post, Carl mentions the production issues they are facing with the OnePlus 2, “Truth is, hardware is extremely hard. There are so many things to consider, like cash flow, inventory, supply chain and production. Every step of the way, there are landmines for the uninitiated and uncareful. This is a reflection and not an excuse.”
He also mentioned that the company might conduct an open sale of the OnePlus 2 to make it up to its customers. He said, “One of the best ideas we have is to open sales up for an hour sometime later this month or early next, to make the entire process a bit more painless for would-be OnePlus 2 users.”
So, we may have an open sale of the OnePlus 2 later this month or early October. Carl did not reveal any more details like the number of units that will go on sale and more. Well, fret not, we will let you know the details once OnePlus announces it.
