Reliance and Airtel to offer the iPhone 5s and 5c in India starting Nov 1st

Indian operators like Airtel and Vodafone have been launching the iPhone in India historically with Aircel also joining the party last year and this time even Reliance has made it through. Reliance and Airtel will start offering the latest iPhones, the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c in India starting November 1st.

Apple recently announced the list of countries which will be getting the iPhone 5s and 5c starting November and India was pretty highlighted on that list so the devices being available starting Nov 1st doesn’t come as a surprise.

iPhone 5s and 5c

We already talked about the latest iPhones, the iPhone 5s has the same design as the iPhone 5 but it has a better 8 MP camera, fingerprint scanner in the home button and a faster brand new 64-bit A chip. The iPhone 5c is basically a iPhone 5 wrapped in a colorful polycarbonate body. Both the iPhone 5s and 5c come with the latest iOS 7.

The folks at FoneArena made a pretty interesting point that the iPhone 5s comes with 4G LTE bands which support the Airtel’s 4G LTE network at metros like Bengaluru , Kolkatta and Pune. You can pre-register at Airtel retail stores across the city to get your hands on the iPhone 5s or the iPhone 5c as soon as it hits Indian shores.

We know that Reliance owns iStore, a network of stores across the country and is one of the largest Apple authorized retailers of iDevices in India. There were rumors that Reliance will offer the iPhones on their CDMA network but that’s not true as they will be launching it on their 3G network.

Both the leading operators of India haven’t yet announced the price at which the iPhone 5s and 5c will be launched but you can expect the iPhone 5s to be priced in between 45k-50k and the iPhone 5c at 35k-40k.
