Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and Zoom launched in India

Samsung announced the Galaxy S4 Mini and the camera centric S4 Zoom and now these devices have made their way to Indian shores.

First talking about the Galaxy S4 Mini, the device is by no means a small device as the moniker “Mini” suggests, it features a 4.3-inch qHD Amoled display and is powered by a dual core 1.7 GHz processor coupled with 1.5 GB of Ram so things should be snappy enough. There is 8 GB internal memory and also a micro sd card slot. It also features a 8 MP camera. The Galaxy S4 Mini runs Android 4.2.2 which is the latest Android version as of now along with the usual TouchWiz skin by Samsung.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is powered by a 1900 MAh battery and it weighs a light 107 gms. The Galaxy S4 Mini will cost you Rs 27,990 which is strangely higher than what the Galaxy S3 costs you which is a much better specked device.

Another device which is now available in India now is the Galaxy S4 Zoom which is a camera centric smartphone, it features a 4.3-inch Amoled display at qHD resolution which is the same as the Galaxy S4 Mini. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz Dual-Core processor along with 1.5 GB of Ram, there is 8 GB of internal memory and a micro sd card slot for expanding the memory. It runs Android 4.2.2 with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top.

The Galaxy S4 Zoom’s rear is where all our interest lies upon as it has a 16 Megapixel camera with 10x Optical Zoom 24-240mm, F3.1-F6.3, it supports ISO modes upto 3200 and there’s a Xenon flash as well. There‚Äôs a 1.9 Megapixel camera at the front. The Galaxy S4 Zoom has a 2300 MAh battery and will cost you Rs 29,900.

The Galaxy S4 Zoom is basically a mid range smartphone with a point and shoot camera glued to the back and it can be great for people who love sharing pictures on the go and who would love to have Android on their point and shoots otherwise its not really a device you can use as a daily driver smartphone. For a more compact cameraphone, i suggest you wait and see what Nokia has in store for us tomorrow.
