Sony has just brought about a new update for its PlayStation companion app on Android and iOS, just a couple days before the next gen PlayStation that is PS4 hits the shelves.

So you must be thinking what new features the update brings, well be patient as we are here to tell you just that. Firstly, the PlayStation app transforms your Android and iOS devices to PlayStation controllers. The update also brings social media features as you can now share scores on social networking websites, you can see what games your friends are playing on their PlayStation devices, you can compare scores with them and you can even go ahead and say hello to one of the other players. The app also brings you notifications, alerts from the game and invitations.

That’s not all as now your Android or iOS device can act as a extended keyboard for your PlayStation gaming console. Thanks to the PlayStation companion app, you can even purchase games from your smartphone or Tablet directly. In case you want to know more about the PS4, check out our posts below:

So all in all, the update to the PlayStation app is worthwhile considering the launch of the PS4 in a couple of days. So anyone planning to get a PS4 here?
