The Sony Xperia C which was unveiled to the world in June is now available in India through online retailers Saholic and Infibeam so we could see widespread availability through all online retailers and retail chains all over India soon.
The Sony Xperia C should fulfill people’s appetite who want a mid range Android smartphone with a big display. The Xperia C features a 5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) display, a 1.2 GHz MediaTek Quad-Core processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM. There’s 4 GB of internal memory which can be expanded upto 32 GB through a microSD. Android 4.2.2 is running the show along with Sony’s customizations.
Xperia C features a 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and it is a Sony Exmor R sensor capable of recording videos in 1080p and a 0.3 (VGA) MP front facing camera. The device also has dual-SIM capability with dual SIM standby which is big here in India. There’s also the LED notification light below the display we love on Sony smartphones. It is 8.8 mm thick and weighs 152 gms. The whole thing is powered by a 2390 mAh battery.
The Sony Xperia C will come in Black, White and Purple colors and is priced at Rs. 20490. The device will come with a free Sony MDR-ZX100A headset which is worth 1500 Rupees and there’s accidental damage cover for a limited time. The phone should ship by October 10th but the online retailers we aforementioned say that the device will be available starting October 5th which is a day after tomorrow.
In other Sony news, Sony is planning to bring the PS4 to India before the end of year.
