The upcoming flagship smartphone code named Sony Honami has been in rumors a lot and in some fresh leaks the specs of the device have been confirmed along with the 20 MP camera, there are also some fresh pictures we can feast upon. So lets divulge shall we?
You can check out the device specs in the picture below, all in all a high end smartphone from Sony with the internals matching those of the Xperia Z Ultra.
Coming to the 20 MP camera sensor of the device, the sensor size is equal to what most point and shoots have, very similar to the what the Galaxy Camera has and coupled with a Sony G-Lens and some BIONZ image processor. The reports and leaks suggest a Xenon flash. The Sony Honami should most certainly have the best smartphone camera in the Android world and if its anything less then i ll be disappointed.
Other specs are basically the Xperia Z Ultra with some alterations, the Sony Honami will feature a 5-inch Full HD Triluminous display along with Sony’s X-Reality engine, the powerful Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz along with a couple of gigs of RAM and a good 3000 mAH battery. There will be 16 GB of memory with a micro sd card slot. Along with the 20 MP rear camera there’s also a 2 MP front camera which should be good enough.
The Sony Honami will come with IPX57 certification similar to the current flagship Xperia Z, the certification is for dust resistance and water resistance. The Xperia Z Ultra features the IPX58 certification which means you can keep the device under water for a longer duration of time while with the IPX57 rating, you can keep the device under water for 30 mins max.

The Xperia Honami reportedly measures 144 x 73.9 x 8.3mm which is impressive considering the 20 MP camera and it will come with a great set of connectivity options along with latest version of the Android that is 4.2 Jelly Bean with Sony’s customizations.
Sony has already send out invites for its IFA event in Berlin on September 4 where we expect the Honami to be made official and personally am very excited to see what Sony brings because Sony and Nokia had once been the ultimate cameraphone amkers until in the recent past Nokia managed to surpass them with the likes of N8, 808 PureView and the just announced Lumia 1020 but hopefully Sony Honami brings an awesome camera to give the Lumia 1020 some competition.
Sony is truly looking impressive this year with Xperia Z Ultra looking amazing and if you were to take my opinion then i would say keep a keen eye on the Honami as it could be the smartphone of the year.
