The iPhone 6s features a smaller battery than the iPhone 6

As it’s customary with Apple, the Cupertino giant did not reveal any battery info for the new iPhones. We were expecting the battery to be slightly bigger than the iPhone 6 if not the same in the new iPhones but well, Apple seems to have put in a smaller battery on the iPhone 6s.

The new Apple promo video that introduces the new iPhones gives us a pick of the innards of the device and we get to see the iPhone 6s to be packing a 1,715 mAh battery. The video which mostly focuses on the new iPhones 3D Touch abilities confirms that the iPhone 6s has had a battery downgrade from the 1,810 mAh battery of the iPhone 6.

While the iPhone 6 Plus had great battery life, the iPhone 6 was panned a bit for its average battery performance. This info in the promo might turn out a mistake or just an early prototype of the iPhone 6s but chances are, that info is indeed correct. Check out the video below and notice at the 2:50 mark to see the battery capacity of the iPhone 6s:

While Apple has introduced some battery features in iOS 9 and the A9 chipset might be better at using resources, we can still expect some pretty average battery performance from the iPhone 6s. We hope Apple hasn’t downgraded the battery on the iPhone 6s Plus.
