WhatsApp has been receiving a lot of attention off late. The developers have added several new features recently and they are not resting anytime soon. The latest update to the WhatsApp app for Android brings several new features and the usual bug fixes.
The new update brings a low data mode for WhatsApp calls, which should be great for people wanting to make a call on a slower data plan. This feature should find a lot of appreciation across the globe, considering not everyone has access to a fast internet connection.
With the new update, there’s also the ability to set different notification tones for different people. This should allow people to know the sender of a message just by the notification tone. This is surely another handy feature. Along with the tone, there’s also the ability to mute notifications or stop notifications from a certain contact. Another new feature is the ability to mark messages as unread, although that will only be for your device, as the sender will still see the message as read.
The new WhatsApp update brings the version of the app to v2.12.194. The update isn’t live on the Play Store yet but if you are one of the impatient ones, you can get it from the WhatsApp website itself.
