Some better models also come with infinite average contrast ratio and 3D.

They can connect with smartphones through HDMI ports. Most HDTV devices have from 2 to 4 of these and accept phones they can also be used for connecting Blu-ray players, cameras, tablets, PCs etc.

3D TVs

3D television buying guide

3D television conveys depth perception and can be viewed with devices that have stereoscopic, multi-view, 2D plus depth or any other 3D display. These TVs are currently at decline when it comes to sales, since most LED, LCD or even plasma devices offer 3D depth perception. So basically 3D TV is a regular HDTV with 3D compatibility made after 2010. Watching 3D television sometimes requires certain specialized equipment like 3D glasses or a new Blu-ray player.

If we take 3D as another special feature of the regular TV, like Internet Streaming or nice remote control, it is easy to figure out that when choosing the right 3D device people need to pay attention more to its 2D features. It I always advisable for buyers to check TV specs at specified websites where they can compare television devices and see latest Foxtel Broadband offer devices and find the one that closely matches their needs.

samsung UHD tvs

Recently we’ve seen new HDTV models that are also known as UHD. There are two digital video formats of UHD television, 4K that comes with 2160p resolution and 8K with 4320p resolution. Now these TVs are much less expensive, and they can be bought for under $2,000. Problem is that there’s still no broadcast of physical media standards to match their possibilities, so their owners can only watch some 4K shows on Netlflix, but only if they have very fast internet. Some of the Netflix TV shows that can be watched in UHD resolutions are: House of Cards, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad etc.

Curved TVs

When it comes to curved TVs the name of these devices says a lot by itself. Their sales started in the beginning of last year, and the first model was made by Samsung. Not a long time after that Sony and LG released their own models. When it comes to Samsung its curved UHD TV is selling three times as fast as its flat UHD flagship. These devices are good because people are able to see more sharpness at the edges of the screen and field of view looks much wider. Their pictures look like they have more depth and they also have a richer contrast performance than regular flat TVs. On the other hand curved TV is not so good if you watch it from the side, because of the obvious geometry issues, they produce more onscreen reflections, and they are also much more expensive than flat TVs.

Smart TVs

These TVs come with integrated internet and Web 2.0 services. They are somewhere in between regular HDTVs and computers and accept regular TV functions they can also broadcast various internet media, including Internet TV, on-demand streaming, over-the-top content and online interactive media. That’s why these devices are sometimes also called “connected TVs”. They don’t have standard software, which means that devices from different manufacturers use different software and graphical presentation. These devices can be used for connecting to some popular streaming online media like Netflix or Hulu, as well as for connecting to social network accounts, Youtube, or any other web-based content provider.
